We've all nervously hovered around closed circles of laughter and joy, looking for a place to insert ourselves into the conversation before ultimately deciding maybe we don't fit in. Whether it's at a run club or a party, we all know what it feels like to prefer being alone over struggling to find a good fit. This problem is particularly acute in endurance fitness, where after we spend hours looking for the few club workouts that actually fit our schedules and abilities, we show up only to feel left out. This is discouraging, and it is something each of our founders has felt.
What we want
Our vision at Mura is that our aspiring and elite endurance athletes never feel alone again, that our club leaders have purpose-built tools to manage members and welcome first-timers, and that the whole ecosystem grows around social life rather than an emphasis on metrics.
Who we are

Our founding team is a D1 track and field athlete looking to get back into the rhythm after his college career ended, a software engineer with multiple Ironman 70.3s under his belt looking for training partners, and a recreational weapon who held a second-hand junker bike together with blue painter's tape on a multi-day ride from Albany to New York City, in search of similarly minded folks willing to get gritty and joke around.
What Mura is for
We aspire to create the “pickup” layer of endurance fitness, and to be the tool club leaders choose to save time, increase their reach, and better serve their community.
Mura brings event scheduling, member management, and topic-based group chat together so that small friend groups, strangers, and club managers alike can seamlessly go from ideation to type 2 fun.
