Why we're building Mura
A note from Nick on the closed circle at the run club, what we want for the people on either side of it, and the three of us building it.
What the team building Mura is shipping, and the calls behind it: the app, the web, and the people who run the week.

A note from Nick on the closed circle at the run club, what we want for the people on either side of it, and the three of us building it.
Clubs
Club leaders are who we build for first. This week the web got a way to start a club, one invite link, a members page, insights that name your first-timers and your regulars, share images and a calendar feed.
Product
muramove.com is live. Open a session's link, enter the six-digit code we email you, and you are in. Hosts get a console. Everything reads the same Mura as the app, under the same rules.
Company
The new app is live for everyone on iOS 26. What came over from the first app, what is new, and why we turned the old one off the same week.
Product
The app felt a little flat, so the cards got rounder and the map came back as the lead picture. How a card decides what to show, why the whole route always fits, and why the Maps mark stays on every card.
Product
Home keeps, Discover finds, Inbox talks. We redrew the app around three verbs instead of five places, and learned the hard way that you never paint over a system tab bar.
How it works
Up to five people a day, with the reason in your own numbers. How the first version of the matcher weighs what you have in common, what it skips, and why there is no number on the card.
Product
An invite, a seat request, a knock on your club. Three things someone is waiting for you to answer. The Inbox puts them first, answers them in place, and keeps chat unread out of the badge.
How it works
A session's route is drawn by hand on real roads and paths, or brought in from a recording you already have. The promises we make about it, and the route builder that came out of them.
Product
Before rebuilding Discover and the session page we read 29 apps, screen by screen, across the places people find something. A dozen practices kept showing up. The session page now follows the best of them, with Mura's flavour.
Product
Thirteen steps, one verb each, no alerts, and a photo grid we built twice before it felt right. What we kept from the first app's profile wizard, and what we changed.
Company
The first Mura was built fast, and it proved the idea. The second is built from the ground up for iPhone, with the rules that keep people safe in one place. Here is why we started over instead of patching.
